No. If we close your account due to inactivity, it can’t be reactivated. Any member benefits in your account, including Velocity Points, Status Credits, Forever Gold Status Credits and Status, will be forfeited when your account is closed. You’re welcome to join Velocity again by creating a new account.

If you check your MyVelocity account, you’ll be able to see when your latest activity was. If your last activity is close to 8 years ago, you will need to complete a Qualifying Activity to prevent the closure of your account. 

A Qualifying Activity includes:

• earning Velocity Points or Status Credits, including as the Beneficiary of a Family Pool;

• contributing to a Family Pool; or

• redeeming or transferring Velocity Points.

Please note, if you have received Velocity Points or Status Credits as a gift from Velocity through a promotional campaign, (e.g., VA Pay Day Status Credits), these gifts do not count as a qualifying activity.

If you earn with a Velocity partner to keep your account open, the Points or Status Credits must appear in your account before the closure date.  E.g., the Points from an upcoming flight must be in your account before the closure date. Sometimes Points earned from flights can take a little while to appear in your account after you’ve flown, so you’ll need to make sure those Points have been credited to your account prior to your closure date to ensure your account is not closed. 

If we close your account due to inactivity, any Status Credits in your Forever Gold Status Credits balance will be forfeited.

We will attempt to notify you if your account is due to close because of inactivity. You can also check your account history for any earn or redemption activity during the past eight years.

Closing accounts that haven’t been used for a long time helps us protect your personal information by limiting the retention of personal information where it is no longer required.
