Frequently Asked Questions

To earn Velocity Points with DiDi, you must link your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership in the DiDi app before your trip commences. Once linked, you will earn Velocity Points on eligible rides if you have Velocity Frequent Flyer selected as your Velocity Points loyalty program in your customer profile before booking.

In the DiDi app menu, select ‘Velocity Points’
Select the ‘Velocity Frequent Flyer’ option, enter your First Name, Last Name and Velocity membership number as per your Velocity account
Select the ‘Register Now’ button to link your Velocity and DiDi accounts
Each time you ride, to earn Points for yourself, make sure you have Velocity Frequent Flyer selected as your Velocity Points loyalty program in your customer profile before you book.

If the details you entered are correct, your DiDi and Velocity accounts will now be linked and if you have Velocity Frequent Flyer selected as your as your Velocity Points loyalty program in your customer profile before you book, you will earn Points on your next eligible DiDi ride.
Please ensure the details you have entered in your DiDi profile and in the Velocity Points section match your Velocity Frequent Flyer account, including your first and last name and Velocity Frequent Flyer number. If you are still experiencing issues, please reach out to DiDi for support via the app.
Earn 1 Velocity Points per $1 of eligible spend every time you ride with DiDi in Australia.* This includes airport and non-airport rides.

The spend eligible for Velocity Points is exclusive of any GST, value added tax, sales tax or similar taxes, any tolls, airport fees or other third party charges incurred, and any discounts or promotions applied. Points will not be awarded where the amount of the fare has been refunded.

To earn Points for yourself, you must also ensure that Velocity Frequent Flyer is selected as your Velocity Points loyalty program in your customer profile before you book.
If you've not taken a DiDi ride in Australia (new customer) you can earn 1,500 bonus Velocity Points^{^} by:

if you haven't already, download the DiDi app and creating a DiDi account for the first time;
select the “Velocity Points” option from the menu, select Velocity Frequent Flyer and enter their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership number; and
complete and pay at least $1 for the Base Fare for one ride within Australia with DiDi using their DiDi customer profile, with Velocity Frequent Flyer selected in the Velocity Points section of the app. If you have both your Velocity Frequent Flyer account and a business' Virgin Australia Business Flyer account linked in the app, before taking a ride make sure Velocity Frequent Flyer is selected in the Velocity Points section of the app.
As an existing DiDi user (who has taken a DiDi ride in Australia, using their existing customer profile with DiDi), you can earn 1,500 bonus Velocity Points^{^} by linking your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership in the Velocity Points section of the DiDi app (make sure you choose the Velocity Frequent Flyer option).
Velocity Points will be credited to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account up to 31 days after making payment for your ride or up to 31 days after linking your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership number as a new or existing DiDi user.

If your Points are still not showing in your My Velocity account after 31 days, please reach out to DiDi for further assistance via the DiDi app.
You can only earn Velocity Points on a single linked DiDi account. Once your Velocity Frequent Flyer account and DiDi account are linked you cannot link that Velocity Frequent Flyer account to another DiDi account.
DiDi users can link a Virgin Australia Business Flyer account to their DiDi account, in addition to linking to their personal Velocity Frequent Flyer account.

You can then toggle between your Velocity Frequent Flyer and Virgin Australia Business Flyer accounts in the Velocity Points section of your DiDi customer profile each time before you take a ride, depending on which account you would like to earn the Velocity Points. You must make the selection before you book the ride.

Please note you will only earn Velocity Points to either your Velocity Frequent Flyer or Virgin Australia Business Flyer account on a single ride (i.e. you cannot earn both Velocity Points to an individual Velocity account and Velocity Points to your business’ Virgin Australia Business Flyer account on the same ride). This means, if you choose Virgin Australia Business Flyer, only the business will earn the Velocity Points. You won’t earn any Velocity Points for yourself.
Before each ride, make sure you select whether you would like to earn Points to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account or Virgin Australia Business Flyer account on the Velocity Points page in the DiDi app. You can only earn with one program per ride. This means, if you choose Virgin Australia Business Flyer, only the business will earn the Velocity Points. You won’t earn any Velocity Points for yourself.
No sorry, only rides completed after you have linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer number to your DiDi account will be eligible for Velocity Points earn. You must also select to earn Points on your Velocity Frequent Flyer account in the Velocity Points section of your DiDi customer profile before booking the ride.
No sorry, once you have selected and earned with either your Virgin Australia Business Flyer account or with your Velocity Frequent Flyer account, we cannot reverse the earn from one account to allocate to another.

2. Do not have a registered customer profile with DiDi and

download the DiDi App and create a DiDi account;

If the Velocity Member meets the eligibility requirements for this offer, the bonus Velocity Points will be allocated to the Velocity Member’s Velocity membership account within 31 days of:

for existing DiDi customers, adding their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership number to their DiDi customer profile; or

for new DiDi customers, paying for at least $1 of the Base Fare for their first ride within Australia with DiDi using their newly registered DiDi customer profile.

Only the Velocity Member who makes the ride booking is eligible to earn Velocity Points. The Velocity Member’s first and last name from their Velocity membership account must match the name registered to their DiDi customer profile.  If the Velocity Member meets the eligibility requirements for this offer, the Velocity Points will be allocated to the Velocity Member’s Velocity membership account within 31 days of the payment for the relevant ride.  You can only earn Velocity Points on a single linked DiDi account. VIRGIN AUSTRALIA BUSINESS FLYER AND DIDI TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Virgin Australia Business Flyer members (“Business Members”) can earn 1,000 bonus Velocity Points with DiDi if they meet the below eligibility requirements.

An individual connected to a Business Member who:

1. Has taken a DiDi ride in Australia, using their existing customer profile with DiDi (existing customer) and adds the Business Member’s Virgin Australia Business Flyer membership number (i.e. the Business Member’s ABN) to the “Velocity Points” section of their individual customer profile with DiDi; or
2. Has not taken a DiDi ride in Australia (new customer) and:

if they haven’t already, downloads the DiDi App and creates a DiDi customer profile in their own name;
selects the “Velocity Points” option from the menu, selects Virgin Australia Business Flyer and enters the Business Member’s Virgin Australia Business Flyer membership number (i.e. the Business Member’s Australian Business Number (“ABN”)); and
completes and pays for at least $1 for the Base Fare for one ride within Australia with DiDi using their DiDi customer profile, with Virgin Australia Business Flyer selected in the Velocity Points section of the app.

The “Base Fare” means the final fee (after any other discounts or promotions have been applied) paid by the individual connected with the Business Member for the ride, excluding any taxes (including GST), tolls, airport fees or other third party charges.

The 1,000 bonus Velocity Points will be allocated to the Business Member connected to the individual who is riding with DiDi (Points will not be allocated to the individual). 

The Business Member’s ABN as recorded on their Virgin Australia Business Flyer membership account must match the ABN registered to the relevant individual’s DiDi customer profile.

If the Business Member meets the eligibility requirements for this offer, the bonus Velocity Points will be allocated to the Business Member’s Virgin Australia Business Flyer membership account within 31 days of:

for existing DiDi customers, adding the Business Member’s ABN to the individual’s DiDi customer profile; or
